Interest Groups

Members of the Village Neighbors connect with each other not only to be helpful with everyday tasks, but also to create community together. Village Neighbors Interest Groups are formed and run by members. Gardeners, readers, hikers, walkers, and others come together to explore and share their passions. Join an Interest Group or start one of your own.

To join a group, contact the group’s leader or our Interest Group Coordinator.  If you don’t see one that fits your interests, we invite you to share your curiosity and talent with others by starting your own group.  It’s easy.  The Interest Group Coordinator will provide you with the help you need to get your Interest Group organized.

Check the monthly VN E-Newsletter for details about specific meetings. If you are signed up for a group, you will receive reminders and last-minute updates, such as weather cancellations.

Gardening and Garden Tours

This group is an opportunity to admire our local gardens, and ask questions of the gardeners who tend them. It's a meet up for gardeners, garden-lovers, and the garden-curious! We are always looking for ideas about what gardens to visit, as well as ideas for guest speakers, and other garden-related topics to explore. Location of this meeting will vary.

Historical Fiction

Historical Fiction Discussion Group

We are pleased to now offer the Village Neighbors Book Discussion Group in-person. During inclement winter weather the group may decide to meet virtually.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month, at 7 pm,
Shutesbury Public Library, 66 Leveret Road (across the street from the Highway Department)

Books are chosen and announced a few months in advance, so there's plenty of time to read them! Join us!
